Weapon Proficiency would be my guess. Most Sorcerers aren't going to spring for martial or exotic weapon proficiency.

All of these options are Simple weapons. They are available to all Sorcerors. All of those you listed are Martial Weapons.

If they take the feat to allow it? Yes.

Well... technically anyone can use any weapon, but if you do not have the proficiency you take a penalty on the to hit roll (I can never remember it it's a -4 or a -6)

It'll be interesting to see what the artist churns out based on the community feedback. Are you going to have a poll to determine what monster to draw inspiration from, BK? There's gotta be a significant aesthetic difference between a zombie-like or vampiresque sorcerer, after all. A transparent wraith-inspired undead sorc could look cool, too.

In a way it's kind of fun watching this play out when I'm not personally invested with the outcome. :)

I would rather see a poll to see what spell is she wielding than a weapon.

I just remember that last night(or last morning since I work nights so sleep in the morning), I dreamt that poll was closed and we were asked what expression she should have. (BK, note, it was not a suggestion, jus one of my many weird dreams)
What do you call a dragon who ate a bunch of adventurers? A party-pooper!
If you Awaken a chicken, is it speaking fowl language?
What do you say when a treefolk betrays you? Tree-son!

Not sure about the expression, but when the poll closes on Monday, there will probably be a followup quickie about the undead baroness' bloodline features. :)
