Eh, Kingmaker is hardly the new Crysis. When the game comes out I'll go on a nice, long vacation and I'll play it on the go.

The camera refuses to focus and it's difficult to control the game with only one hand, but you get the idea...

    Berserkerkitten:

I always go with this guy's under $1000 build when I buy a new computer. That starts slowing down after about 5-7 years of "the new Crysis" type games. I've never seen the need for anything over an i5 (+same level HW). That being said, this linked under $500 build would be able to run it perfectly if Berserkerkitten has it running on his magical wizard box

I don't have the right mindset for an absolute high end gaming rig, because you can buy the best stuff money can get and two weeks later the next most powerful thing comes out and the stuff you got is only worth half as much. I'm grossly exaggerating, but you get the idea. I've got my humble i7-4790k and a GTX 1070 and they get the job done. I won't be playing a lot of stuff at ultra settings in 4K, but it's good enough for what I do and it's more than adequate for Kingmaker. I can run this stuff for a couple more years, then get a new GPU if necessary and I'll ultimately have to get a new board if I want to upgrade my CPU. Not gonna bother while games still play alright.

I guess I have the following:
    motherboard Asus Strix Z270F
    CPU Intel i7-7700K on 4.6Ghz
be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 cooler
    GPU Asus Strix Geforce GTX1070
    RAM 16GB DDR4-2666
    Samsung 850 Evo SSD 500GB x2
    Cooler Master Storm Trooper case
Corsair RM650x (80 plus gold rating)

I was thinking about a 1080 graphics card but I felt the 1070 was already expensive enough. To be honest though, I like the specs for games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Mass Effect Andromeda (it's actually pretty good since they patched it up), but for a game like this I suspect it's completely over the top and unnecessary.
